Vineet Kumar Singh is an Indian actor. Born into a family of academics, in the holy city of Varanasi, Singh was an avid sports person and brought laurels to his educational institutions all through his student life. He dabbled in sports, medicine and screenwriting exploring in many dimensions.
But his true passion lay in acting.
Singh participated in the nationwide ‘Superstars’ Talent Hunt and won it, beating several competitors from India and abroad. This marked his entry in to Indian film industry, first as a directorial assistant with filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar.
During this phase he learnt the ropes of filmmaking as well as perfected his craft as an actor. His training helped him understand the basic technicalities of filmmaking. His unique ability to be adept at my spoken Indian languages proved beneficial as he was offered work in both the Bengali and Marathi films, both of which are known for their progressive cinema.
His big break came in 2010 when Manjrekar cast him as a lead in his hard-hitting hindi social film ‘City of Gold’. From then, there was no looking back.
