Devara Story
Devara: Part 1 is a Telugu romantic action drama movie directed by Koratala Siva. The movie casts Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in the main lead roles along with Saif Ali Khan, Shruti Marathe, Talluri Rameswari, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, Murali Sharma, Ajay, Abhimanyu Singh, and many others have seen in supporting roles. The music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander while the cinematography was done by R. Rathnavelu and it is edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. The film is produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni, Kosaraju Harikrishna, and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram under Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts banners.
Story
The story is set in a dense forest near the shores of the Red Sea, where Devara (Jr. NTR), Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), and their friends (Srikanth and Chacko) make a living by hunting in the sea. Despite their efforts, their lives seem stagnant, with no real progress. Seeing this, Muruga (Murali Sharma) offers them a job that promises a huge payout. However, this job involves smuggling goods through the sea, evading the authorities.
Devara, however, sets strict rules, forbidding them from venturing too far into the sea for this dangerous task. Bhaira, frustrated by Devara's restrictions, plots to kill him. When Devara learns of this betrayal, he makes an unexpected decision.
Why did Devara impose restrictions on sea hunting? Why did Bhaira, once Devara's close friend, conspire to kill him along with his friends? After discovering the plot against him, why did Devara venture into the sea without informing anyone? What motivated him to instill fear in Bhaira's gang? Why did Devara's son, Vara, turn into a timid person? How did Vara's love story with Thangam (Janhvi Kapoor) unfold? Ultimately, did Devara return, and what did Vara do for the four villages? The answers to these questions form the crux of Devara's story.
Release Date
Devara: Part 1 was theatrically released on 27 September 2024 in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. Initially, the film was scheduled for release on 5 April 2024, coinciding with the Ugadi weekend. However, due to extensive post-production and VFX work, the release was delayed to 10 October 2024, to align with the Dussehra festivities. The release was later moved forward to its current date.
The film is available in various formats, including standard, IMAX, 4DX, ScreenX, D-Box, MX4D, and ICE. Devara: Part 1 had its world premiere at the Beyond Fest film festival in Los Angeles on 26 September 2024, with lead actor Jr. NTR and director Koratala Siva attending the event.
Box-Office
Devara movie made a pre-release business of 184 crores before release; on opening day, it made 172 crores. On its first weekend at the box office, Devara earned approximately 304 crores worldwide.
