Abhijith Biography

Abhijith (Kannada: ಅಭಿಜಿತ್) is a Kannada film and television actor.

Early life:

Abhijith was born on 30 July 1963 in Chellakere, Chitradurga district. His father is Madhavrao and his mother is Nanjamma. Abhijith started acting in plays from his school days.

Career:
Abhijith was working as a Film Representative for some movies.[clarification needed] He left his family and came to Bangalore in search of work. He approached Kannada movie Directors to gain a chance in their movie. As the days passed he gained an opportunity to play small character roles in the movies Samsarada Guttu, Shanthi Nivasa, Krishna Mechchida Radha, Jana Nayaka, Ondaagi Baalu and Bannada Gejje.

Abhijith was seen in a lead negative role for the first time in the movie College Hero in 1990 later followed by Chaitrada Premanjali in the same year. In 1991, Abhijith played the role of 2nd son of Rajkumar in the film Jeevana Chaitra. He was seen in the lead role for the first time in 1993 in the film Ranjitha by director K.V Jayram. He played negative roles even after being a successful hero in the movies such as Muddina Maava, 'One Man Army, Vairi, Aparadhi and so on.

Abhijith has acted in more than 120 movies in kannada film industry. In the year 1999 he played a lead role in the movie Yejamana with the combination of Vishnuvardhan and Shashi Kumar. The movie was a commercial success and the performance of abhijith was appreciated by the audience.

In 2005, Abhijith produced his first film Samara Simha Nayaka. The film however did not do well. In 2009, he directed his first film Jodi No. 1. He was also the story writer, script writer and producer for the film.

Aksharamaale:
Abhijith is the lead anchor of the popular show Aksharamale on Udaya TV. Aksharamaale (Kannada: ಅಕ್ಷರಮಾಲೆ) is a is singing competition programme running from past 15 years on Udaya TV. Abhijith has been the anchor of the show for 12 years (1999–present) with co-anchor Sangeetha Ravishankar.
