Anu Sithara is an Indian actress and dancer who is prominent in Malayalam and Tamil Film Industries. She is known for her performances in the films like Ramante Edenthottam ,Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, and Captain.

Personal Life

Anu Sithara, was born in Kalpatta, a small town in Wayanad district, Northern Kerala in 1995. Her father's name is Abdul Kalam and her mother's name is Renuka. She has one sibling, Anu Sonora. In 2015, Actress Anu Sithara married her boyfriend Vishnu Prasad.

Career Life

A well-known actress in Malayalam Film Industry, Anu Sithara stepped into her acting life in 2013. She made her first debut in Malayalam Cinema with the movie 'Pottas Bomb'. Later, she played a minor role in the super-hit film Oru Indian Pranayakadha. In 2015, she appeared in a cameo role in Sachy's film Anarkali. Since then she has acted the movies such as Happy Wedding, Campus Diary and Marupadi.

In 2017, she played a lead role with Kuchako Boban in the film Ramantea Eden Thottam. The film was directed by Ranjith Shankar and portrayed the story of an introverted housewife, who suppressed her dreams to make others happy. The film was successful and received positive reviews from audiences and critics alike. Later the actress acted in average hit-the films such as Achayans, Sarvopari Palakkaran,Naval Enna Jewel and Aana Alaralodalaral.

With her outstanding performance in the film captain, the actress has gained much appreciation from audiences. Like a biopic, on the late footballer, VP Sathyan directed by Prajesh Sen. The actress shared a lead role with Jayasurya. The film was a super hit and actor Jayasurya won the Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor for his incredible performance in the film. After the massive success of Captain, Anu Sithara acted with Tovino Thomas in the film Oru Kuprasidha Payyan. The film got an average opening at the box office.

Apart from acting in Malayalam, the actress made her first debut in Tamil Cinema with the film Podhu Nalan Karudhi in 2018. She played a female lead role opposite Karunakaran in the film.

As an actress Anu Sithara gained much appreciation for her bold, innocent, and powerful women characters in the films like Ramante Edenthottam ,Oru Kuprasidha Payyan, and Captain.

In 2019, she shared screen space with Dileep in the film Subharathri. It was directed and written by Vyasan K.P. and featured Siddique, Dileep in the lead roles. Later, she appeared in an action-drama Mamangam directed by M.Padmakumar. Mammootty and Unnimukudaan starred in the film and became a massive blockbuster of the year. The film collected 134.75crore at the box office.

After playing a cameo appearance in the film Maniyarayilea Ashokan in 2020, the actress was last seen in the film 12th Man'. It was a thriller movie directed by Jeethu Joseph and starred Mohanlal in the lead role.
