Biography

Cyrus Broacha is an Indian anchor, theatre personality, comedian, political satirist, columnist, podcaster, and author. He is also a prankster, best known for his show Bakra on MTV and his show "The Week That Wasn't" on CNN-News18. Personal and Early Life Broacha was born on August 7, 1971, to a Parsi father, Shapurji Burjorji Broacha, and a Catholic mother, Olivia. He started acting at the age of five in a school play, The Emperor's New Clothes. Every year he performed and wrote for the school magazine, winning prizes for English and drama. Cyrus' family originally hails from Baruch, Gujarat. Career Cyrus Broacha was acclaimed in the media as a young genius, and his acting career took off. He kept performing in plays. He also gained notoriety at the Malhar festival at his institution. When he was in college, FM radio in India began to acquire popularity, and he established himself as a radio jockey. Broacha studied theatre acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City after graduating. He appeared in numerous plays, television series, and advertisements after moving back to India. While pursuing his passion for theatre with more than 20 commercial theatre works, he also hosted shows and corporate events. Broacha began working as a VJ for MTV India in 1999. In addition to MTV Bakra, MTV Fully Faltoo Film Festival, and MTV Love School, he hosted a number of other programmes on the network. Additionally, he made appearances in a number of Bollywood films, such as Jalwa (1987), 99 (2009), and Fruit & Nut (2009). As a humorist, Broacha joined CNN-News18 in 2011. He was the host of the satirical look at the week's news programme, The Week That Wasn't. The programme ran for two seasons and enjoyed both critical and financial success. Additionally, Broacha writes articles for other publications, such as Outlook, The Hindu, and The Times of India. The Week That Wasn't: The Best of the Satirical News Show (2012), Cyrus Broacha's The Truth: A Parody (2014), and Bakra: The Making of a Prankster by Cyrus Broacha are just a few of the works he has published. Cyrus Broacha's Bigg Boss OTT-2: He participated as one of the contestants in Salman Khan's highly regarded Bigg Boss OTT's second season. On June 18, 2023, he made his entrance and quickly established himself as a serious contender to go to the next phase and win the title.
