Venkat Raj, professionally known as Fish Venkat, was born on August 3, 1971, in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Over a vibrant 25-year career, he appeared in over 100 Telugu films, earning fame for his signature Telangana dialect and razor-sharp comedic timing. He made his breakthrough role in Kushi (2001), followed by memorable appearances in Aadi, Bunny, Adhurs, Gabbar Singh, DJ Tillu, and many others that showcased both his comic and character-actor versatility.
Despite his rise in the film industry, Venkat’s later years were burdened by severe kidney and liver ailments. He had been undergoing regular dialysis and was placed on ventilator support in a Hyderabad hospital when his condition deteriorated. His daughter had publicly appealed for ₹50 lakh to support a needed transplant, highlighting the family’s financial strain, a plea that ultimately went unanswered in time.
Fish Venkat passed away at the age of 53 on July 18, 2025, in Hyderabad, following complications from kidney and liver failure. His death marks a profound loss to Telugu cinema, but his humorous legacy and unique screen presence continue to be fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
