Kalabhavan Mani Biography

Kalabhavan Mani is an Indian Film Actor, Singer, and Mimicry Artist who is well-known in Malayalam Film Industry. He started his career as a mimicry artist with the Kalabhavan troupe. He has acted in more than 200 films in his short career life. Apart from Malayalam films he also played prominent roles in Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu Industries.

By playing different roles like comedy, hero and villain the actor conquered every Malayali audience's mind.  He became a prominent face in doing hilarious roles in films. Besides acting he is a famous philanthropist, who often contributed a huge sum to the poor and suffering people in society. He always plays a sponsorship role for those who need help in health and education.

Career Life


Kalabhavan Mani started his acting career in the year of 1991. He made his first debut with Sibi Malayil's Film Akshram in  1995, he appeared in the film in a cameo role. Later, he acted in the ever-hit Malayalam film 'Sallapam'. This film gave him an opportunity to play a perfect comic role and make others happy. The actor who played the role of well-manner and he has grabbed the audience's attention. Later he acted in several movies like Manthra Mothiram,Katha Nayagan, Mayaponman, and Summer In Bethlahem.

Apart from acting in comic roles, the actor has started to choose villain and hero roles in films. In 1999, he played a blind man character in the film  Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum directed by Vinayan. With his talented acting prowess, he played the character in a well- manner that attained the audience's attention from all the mediums. And the actor won  National film awards and the Kerala state film award for his incredible performance in the film.

Again, the actor showcased excellent performance in the film'Karumadikkuttan’, which was directed by Vinayan. The actor played the role of the mentally challenged person in the film. It was one of the best performances in his acting career life.  

After showcasing his astonishing roles in a comic and serious manner in Malayalam films, the actor moved on to Tamil and Telugu films, later he achieved enormous success in playing negative roles.  His villain role in the movie Gemini gained much critics and attention from the audience. Later he appeared in the same role in the film ' Chotta Mumbai'in 2007. The film was a successful film at the box office and became one of the top five highest-grossing Malayalam films that year. Since there, he acted in several films like Vel, Shakespeare M.A. Malayalam, One Way Ticket, Enthiran Ravanan , Moonam Nal, Anathabhadram. The actor last appeared in the film Poyi Maranju Parayathea. It was released in  2016.

Besides acting he is a good folk singer and active in charity services. Khalabhavan Mani is famous for singing folk songs in Malayalam. He sang many folk songs in Malayalam, which became a super hit. And he is active in humanitarian assistance to those in need and has also contributed money for the development of social welfare.

Death

On March 6, 2016, the actor died due to overconsumption of alcohol and liver ailments. He died at the age of 45.
