Biography

Kamaal Rashid Khan born May 20, 1960, is Indian actor and a film producer of small bollywood movies. Film career Khan made his hindi film debut in 2008 with the film Desh Drohi. He was also the producer of the film. The film garnered some publicity in the wake of the 2008 attacks on North Indians in Maharashtra, to which the films release coincided. Some scenes of the film were said to be derogatory to the sentiments of the local Marathi population of Mumbai by the head of Mumbai office of Central Board of Film Certification. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, a minor far-right regional political party was quick to protest against the movie. Although it has been argued that the publicity generated, provided the film much more publicity than it would have been able to garner on its own accord. Despite the hype, the critical response to the film was overwhelmingly negative. The film received the Lajja Award for Worst Treatment of a Serious Issue Award at the Golden Kela Awards held in Delhi. Khan is reportedly working on a follow up to Desh Drohi, titled Desh Drohi 2 - 26/11 War In Mumbai. While the previous film was a representation of the alleged discrimination of north Indians in Mumbai, the follow up promises to deal with the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Bigg Boss Khan made his television debute in the 3rd season of Indian reality TV programme Bigg Boss, which is the Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother. He was nominated for eviction by his fellow housemates for the first and second weeks running. He survived the first week's eviction, which saw Jaya Sawant evicted. In the Bigg Boss house he is seen to proclaim about his wealth time and again. He is disliked by most of the inmates for his loud character and bragging about his wealth. On day 13: When Amitabh Bachchan asked him the reason for his confidence that he wont be evicted - KRK claimed that people would be interested to see how a rich man like him, who lives in a 21000 sq ft palace, gets milk from Holland, water from France and tea from London, will live in Big Boss house. Khan is probably the richest celebrity who participated in any Reality Show in India. Eviction Kamaal was ejected out of the big boss house for assaulting a fellow contestant in the big boss house. He also got into a tiff with Raju Shrivastav who is also a fellow contestant.
