Biography

Kunjumon K T is a Famous Tamil Producer. Mr.K.T.Kunjumon has reached eminent position after pulling in very hard work continuously for last twenty eight years. After completing school education he started his own career in travel agency business followed by hotel industry and then came to film industry. Literally he has built up his own empire right from scratches. Mr.K.T.Kunjumon had been in the film business for more than 18 years. He started his career as a film distributor and to his credit he has distributed approximately 350 films in different languages, in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He also dubbed many films from Tamil to Malayalam, Telugu & Hindi. Having understood the taste of the film viewers and with deep insight of film making, he ventured into production of Malayalam films in late 1980’s and then came for producing Tamil films from 1991 onwards. Among the 11 films produced so far “Gentleman” was his first superhit film and that created many records in Tamil film production. Then came “Kaadhalan” and this film won many National Awards. All the Technicians worked in this film bagged most of the awards for their excellence. This itself created a special record in film making. His production are acclaimed by everybody for its Richness, Novelty, Variety and Music. He has to his credit having introduced many Actors, Directors, Music Directors, Technicians and Great Singer like Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Unnikrishnan, Unni Menon, Udit Narayan in tamil film industry. The success story of Mr.Kunjumon is mainly due to his exclusive devotion and commitment to the film industry. His bold and inspiring leadership, His experiments with new ideas, Identifying new Talents/ upcoming Artists/ Technicians and encouragement given to them to bring out their full potential. All of such Artists, Music Directors and Directors introduced under his banner have reached eminent position in their respective field and now are acclaimed personalities at national and international level. To illustrate we give few names who became popular after introducing them in his banner, Prabhu Deva, Nagma, Sarath Kumar, Miss universe Sushmitha Sen, Tabu, Abbas, Director Shankar, Kathir and rest of others. Mr.A.R.Rahman, the brightest star of Indian film music became very popular through his films. He has bagged many awards for his contribution to the growth of film industry and serving various social and welfare causes. The best among them was the coveted award “Friends of Canada” given to him in Canada in the year 1999 along with another Member of Parliament. Equally worthy to mention was “Prekshaka Priya Award” given to him in March 2000 by Calicut Chamber of Commerce. With his hardwork, experience, exposure, contacts, administrative capacity and with his special Midas touch he made south Indian films to be spoken at all India level. Now he desires to produce English film also at International level in the pattern of TITANIC and other mega movies. Mr.Kunjumon who is called affectionately as “Gentleman Kunjumon” is also a big Philanthropist and support all social and Welfare causes irrespective of political and religious affiliation.
