Biography

Mallika Sherawat is an Indian Actress and a model born in Rohtak, Haryana. Mallika was born as Reema Lamba to a Jat family. Mallika did her schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. She completed her degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University. She is one of the few Bollywood stars trying to cross over to Hollywood. During the initial days of her career she claimed that she had come from a small conservative town family and she faced many hudles from her family in pursuing her career, to which her family denied and said that she created a story of her own. It's been reported that she was married to a Jet Airways pilot. Career Mallika first appeared in some TV commercials with Amitabh Bachchan for BPL and Shahrukh Khan for Santro. She also starred in a music video of Nirmal Pandey and Surjit Bindrakhia. She debuted in the film Jeena Sirf Merre Liye. Then Mallika starred in the film Khwahish in the year 2003, and Murder in the year 2004. She got the nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards for the film Murder. It was one of the biggest hits of the year. In the year 2005, she acted in a Chinese film, The Myth, with Jackie Chan. Then in the year 2006, she starred in the film Pyaar Ke Side Effects which fared moderate at the box office. In the year 2007, she starred in a song Mayya Mayya in the film Guru. She also played a guest role in the film Aap Ka Suroor - The Real Love Story for which she charged Rs 15 million for a 10-minute appearance. Later that year, she starred in the film Welcome which was also a hit at the box office. Then in the year 2008 she did two films Ugly aur Pagli and Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam which flopped at the box office. In the year 2009, she starred in a Hollywood film Hisss. Then later she also acted in another Hollywood comedy film Politics of Love.
