Monalisa Bhosle (popularly known as the “Monalisa of Mahakumbh”) is an Indian internet personality who rose to national attention during the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. A viral video showing her selling Rudraksha garlands at the Triveni Sangam captivated millions online, with viewers drawn to her distinctive amber-colored eyes and calm, striking appearance. Her sudden popularity transformed her from a local vendor into a widely recognized social media figure and aspiring actress.
Monalisa Bhosle was born in Maheshwar, in the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, India. She belongs to the Pardhi community, a tribal group that traditionally lives in areas near the Narmada River.
Growing up in a modest household, Monalisa helped support her family by selling floral arrangements and religious garlands at Kila Ghat in Maheshwar and at major religious gatherings. Like many others from her community, she was involved in small-scale trade during festivals and pilgrimages, where demand for devotional items is high.
In January 2025, during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Monalisa was filmed by social media influencers while selling Rudraksha garlands near the Triveni Sangam.
The video quickly went viral, accumulating more than 15 million views across platforms. Online audiences were fascinated by her expressive eyes and natural beauty, leading many to nickname her the “Brown Beauty” and the “Monalisa of Mahakumbh.” The viral moment turned her into an overnight internet sensation and opened doors to opportunities beyond her earlier life as a festival vendor.
Following her sudden fame, Monalisa began receiving offers from the entertainment industry. She was cast in a lead role in the film “The Diary of Manipur,” directed by Sanoj Mishra.
In addition to acting, she also ventured into modeling and brand endorsements, collaborating with brands such as Bobby Chemmanur Jewellery. Her transformation from a garland seller at religious gatherings to a public figure attracted significant media attention.
On March 11, 2026, Monalisa married her boyfriend Farman Khan in an interfaith ceremony held at the Arumanoor Sri Nainaar Deva Temple in Kerala. The marriage drew public interest due to both her rising fame and the interfaith nature of the ceremony.
