Biography

Mouni Roy is a prominent Indian actress, trained Kathak dancer, and model who successfully transitioned from television stardom to Bollywood. She was born on September 28, 1985, in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, into a Bengali-speaking Rajbongshi family with a strong artistic background. Her mother, Mukti Roy, and grandfather, Shekhar Chandra Roy, were both associated with theatre, while her father, Anil Roy, worked as an office superintendent. Education and Training Mouni completed her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Baburhat, Cooch Behar. She later moved to Delhi, where she pursued a degree in English Literature from Miranda House. She also enrolled in a mass communication course at Jamia Millia Islamia but left it midway to follow her passion for acting in Mumbai. Alongside academics, she trained in classical Kathak dance, which later became a defining aspect of her screen presence. Television Career Breakthrough Mouni began her acting journey with the popular television show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (2006), where she played Krishna Tulsi.
