Obeli N. Krishna Biography

Obeli N. Krishna, also known as N. Krishna, was born Krishnan K. T. Nagarajan in the Tamil Nadu town of Komarapalayam. He is a screenwriter and filmmaker who works in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. He made his directorial debut with the 2006 romantic blockbuster Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. Other than Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, Krishna is best known for his work in Tamil and Telugu language movies like Nedunchaalai, Hippi, and Pathu Thala.

Career

Gautham Vasudev Menon's Minnale marked Krishna's debut as an actor in the Tamil film industry. In the Hindi remake of Minnale, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, he served as the assistant director. Additionally, he co-directed Kaakha Kaakha and its Telugu remake, Gharshana. In 2008, Krishna made his filmmaking debut with the romantic tale Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. Additionally, his second movie, Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai, was finished but never released because the production company, Pyramid Saimira, declared failure. Krishna made a comeback to directing in 2012 with the realistic epic Nedunchaalai, which was published in 2014.

After Nedunchaalai, he stopped making frequent films and stopped being involved in the film industry. After five years, he entered the Telugu film business and debuted as a director with the 2019 film Hippi. After 9 years again he came back and rose to fame through STR's Pathu Thala, the authorised remake of the Kannada film Mufti. It was originally going to be directed by Narthan, who also handled the Kannada version, but for some reason it was replaced by Krishna.
