Perarasu is an Indian Tamil film director. His movies are normally a mix of action and melodrama (locally known as masala). He started his directorial venture with Joseph Vijay in his first two films, Thirupaachi and Sivakasi, which became successful releases. All his films so far are named after cities and towns in Tamil Nadu.
Pudungi Perarasu has garnered an exceptional amount of bad publicity for his movies. He is known for appearing in cameo roles in his movies, in which he arrives in a typical Rajinikanth-style, complete with stolen music and the like, and proceeds to deliver lines characterized by bad dialogue, delivery, and raunchy body language. Most recently, Perarasu has announced his plans to act full time in movies.
