Prajakta Shukre was born on 29 November 1987 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. She grew up in a family where music was part of life — her mother was a music teacher, and Prajakta began singing from an early age. She trained in music through childhood and actively participated in competitions long before her television debut. Singer Prajakta Shukre, known from Indian Idol, is married to Chirag Katre, a businessman, with the couple having tied the knot in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony in 2015, and they have a daughter named Shanaya.
