Prajakta Shukre was born on 29 November 1987 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India . She grew up in a family where music was part of life — her mother was a music teacher, and Prajakta began singing from an early age. She trained in music through childhood and actively participated in competitions long before her television debut.  Singer Prajakta Shukre, known from Indian Idol, is married to Chirag Katre, a businessman, with the couple having tied the knot in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony in 2015, and they have a daughter named Shanaya. Breakthrough on Indian Idol Prajakta’s major break came when she competed in Indian Idol Season 1 (2005) while she was still in Class XII. She impressed audiences and judges with her strong vocals and stage presence, ultimately finishing fourth in the competition, becoming the only female contestant to reach the Top Five that season.
