Pramod Pathak Biography

Pramod Pathak is an acclaimed Indian actor and director, primarily recognized for his work in Bollywood films and web series. Born on December 23 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Pramod comes from a Brahmin business family. He completed his initial education in Kanpur and further studies in Nainital, Uttarakhand, where he lived for eight years.


Pramod's journey to the entertainment industry began after he moved to Mumbai and initially worked in a market research company. His passion for acting led him to join a theatre group in 1996, marking the start of his acting career. He juggled various roles, including writing screenplay dialogues, working as a backstage assistant, and providing technical assistance in theatre plays during his early years.


Pramod made his Bollywood debut with a small role in "Thodisi Bewafaii" (1980) and later appeared in films such as "The Legend of Bhagat Singh" (2002) and "Mumbai Cutting" (2008). His breakthrough came with the role of Sultana Daku in "Gangs of Wasseypur" (2012). Other notable films in his career include "John Day" (2013), "City Lights" (2014), "Raees" (2017), and "Raazi" (2018).


In addition to films, Pramod has made significant contributions to television and web series. He debuted on TV with the Star Plus show "P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke" (2016) and on digital platforms with the web series "InMates" (2017). He gained widespread recognition for his role as JP Yadav in the Amazon Prime series "Mirzapur" and played prominent roles in other series like "Raktanchal" (2020) and "Maharani."


Pramod's directorial ventures include short films such as "Signalwaala Ladka" (2009), "Jaan" (2012), and "Woh Ladka" (2013).
