Pravina Deshpande was born in 1965 in India. She began her artistic journey in theatre, where she developed a strong foundation in acting. Her experience on stage helped her transition smoothly into films and television, where she later became a familiar face in character roles.
Deshpande made her film debut with Mumbai Meri Jaan in 2008. She went on to appear in several Hindi films, often portraying impactful supporting characters.

Pravina Deshpande was married and is survived by her husband and two sons. She kept her personal life largely private while focusing on her acting career.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. She fought the disease for several years before passing away at the age of 60 on 17 February 2026 in Mumbai. Her family confirmed the news through her official social media accounts, and her final rites were held at the Hindu Cemetery in Andheri.
