Suresh Krissna is an Indian film director known for his works in South Indian cinema and Bollywood. His first Tamil film was Sathya (1988). He found success with Kavithalaya's Annamalai, starring Rajinikanth. Since then, he has directed Veera, Baashha and Baba with Rajinikanth in the lead.
He has also worked with leading stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Venkatesh, Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan, and Vishnuvardhan, . He wrote a book called My Days with Baasha about his experiences working with Rajinikanth. In 1989 he received the Nandi Award for Best Director for Prema.
A native of Guruvayur, Suresh was born and brought up at Chennai. His father, Balakrishna Panicker, was a State Government employee of Tamil Nadu. The youngest of six children, financial difficulties made him stand on his feet from a young age. His first brush with acting was in a Tamil serial in Doordarshan, produced by Madhumohan in 1990.
