Kuberaa Story

Kuberaa is an pan-Indian social thriller directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula. This marks his first collaboration with versatile actor Dhanush, who leads the film alongside Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna. The ensemble cast also features Jim Sarbh, Dalip Tahil, Sayaji Shinde, and Hareesh Peradi in pivotal roles. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy, and editing by Karthika Srinivas, the film is jointly produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banners of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations.

Plot Summary

Set against the backdrop of Mumbai's sprawling Dharavi slums, Kuberaa delves into the lives of three central characters: a beggar, a businessman, and a government official. The narrative unfolds as their paths intersect, revealing a complex web of ambition, greed, and moral dilemmas.

Story

In the very first scene, a powerful businessman named Neeraj discovers the presence of oil reserves in India. Instead of informing the public, he conspires with influential politician Harish Peradi to secretly exploit it for their own gain. To handle the massive bribe payments to political leaders involved, they enlist Deepak (Nagarjuna), a shrewd fixer currently serving time in prison.

Deepak devises a clever plan—he selects four beggars, including Deva (Dhanush) from Tirupati, and others including Khushbu, Divya, and another person from different towns. These individuals are cleaned up, dressed in suits, and used as frontmen to float fake companies in their names. Overnight, they are turned into billionaires on paper. Once the money is transferred, each of them is eliminated one by one to erase any evidence.

The story intensifies as Deva escapes from the deadly trap. What role does Sameera (Rashmika Mandanna) play in all this? How does the conspiracy unravel, and what happens in the nail-biting climax? Director Sekhar Kammula delivers this high-stakes thriller through Kubera.

The audio launch of the much anticipated multilingual film Kuberaa was held on June 1, 2025, at the Leo Muthu Indoor Stadium, Sri Sai Ram Institute of Technology, Chennai. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film features a stellar cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil.
