Vetrivel Story

Vetrivel is a Tamil film written and directed by Vasantha Mani. The film features M. Sasikumar and Miya George in the lead roles. The film's music will be composed by D. Imman and the cinematography is handled by S. R. Kathir. Production Newcomer director Vasantha Mani revealed that he was working on the script of a film featuring Jai, Sasikumar and Samuthirakani during December 2014. By May 2015, he revealed that Jai did not sign the project and they were looking for a new actor to portray the role written for him instead. In early September 2015, after finishing work on Bala's Tharai Thappattai (2016), Sasikumar confirmed he would work on the project titled Vetrivel and an official launch was held. The film began production during September 2015 at Tanjore and completed a month long schedule, which ended early as a result of the 2015 Nadigar Sangam elections. Miya George revealed that she was working on the film during December 2015, and noted that she would portray the character of Malayali girl in the film.

Vetrivel is a Tamil film written and directed by Vasantha Mani. The film features M. Sasikumar and Miya George in the lead roles. The film's music will be composed by D. Imman and the cinematography is handled by S. R. Kathir. Detailed Story Vetrivel story set in the backdrops of village in Tanjore, Sasikumar as a responsible yet non-educated son of a well reputed teacher (Ilavarasu). His younger brother (Anand Nag) has already fell in love with his classmate, daughter of village president (Prabhu) and assures her that he could bring their relationship before parents only after the marriage of his elder brother. Sasikumar meanwhile falls in love with a staff working at Government Agricultural College (Mia George), a Malayali. Just as they are about to profess their love for each other, things out to be a bizarre when Sasikumar kidnaps a girl with wrong identity instead of Prabhu’s daughter. What happens to Mia and to their love is rest of the story to be watched on big screen.

Sasikumar impresses with his natural sense of emoting. Though his love track with Miya George is somewhat predictable, it neatly bags the smiles and sensibilities of the audience. Miya George’s role is relatively smaller in the film, but she lights up the screen, adapting maturely to her character. The movie’s only threat will be the mentality of some audience to whom emotional rides are actually a bad roller coaster dive. Comedy by Thambi Ramaiah is as it should be and probably that’s why it might make one feel more could have been done on that front. Verdict: Vetrivel doesn’t rob the audience of a good story. It has sweet sensibilities, sour rivalry and palatable drama along with raw comedy on offer

Doesn’t this look like a replica of Nadodigal”, Sasikumar himself offers you a surprise by bringing the friends of Nadodigal along with director Samuthirakani, for a serious kidnap mission, but in a spoof mode, where you have pretty good irking Thambi Ramaiah as well. Verdict : Similarities and reference unlimited, but okay.
