Agastya Nanda was born on November 23, 2000, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He comes from one of Bollywood’s most respected film families—the Bachchans. Agastya is the son of Shweta Bachchan Nanda (author and entrepreneur) and Nikhil Nanda (industrialist and chairman of Escorts Group). Growing up in a prestigious yet grounded environment, Agastya attended school in Mumbai before continuing his education abroad.
Agastya is the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, two legendary icons of Indian cinema. His maternal uncle is actor Abhishek Bachchan, and his aunt is actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. His elder sister, Navya Naveli Nanda, is an entrepreneur and co-founder of health and women empowerment initiatives.
Being part of a celebrated family, Agastya has always attracted public curiosity, yet he maintained a relatively low profile until his entry into films.
Agastya made his highly awaited acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies (2023), where he played the lead role of Archie Andrews. His performance received appreciation for its charm and natural screen presence, marking him as a promising newcomer.
Following his debut, Agastya began working on several major projects:
Ekkis (directed by Sriram Raghavan), a biographical war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.
