Allu Arjun is an Indian film actor who primarily works in Telugu cinema. After playing as a child artist in Vijetha and as a dancer in Daddy, Arjun made his adult debut in Gangotri. Allu Arjun is the nephew of the famous Telugu actor Chiranjeevi. He is also the grandson of Telugu comedy actor Allu Ramalingaiah.

His cousin, Ram Charan Teja, is also a young and upcoming Tollywood actor. He has two siblings: an older brother named Allu Venkatesh and a younger brother named Allu Sirish. He now lives in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, with his family. He is a good dancer in Tollywood, like his uncle.

Allu Arjun's second film, Arya was released in 2004, and Allu Arjun claims it to be his first major hit and his dance and the Aa Ante Amalapuram song both generated a lot of buzz. Arjun's third film, Bunny was released in 2005, and his fourth film, Happy was released in 2006. The film managed to make a decent profit in the Indian movie scene in the U.S.

In 2007, his fifth film, Desamuduru, directed by Puri Jagannadh, proved to be a box office hit and the first hit of the year in Tollywood. In its first week of release, this film grossed Rs. 19 crore and earned a share of Rs. 15.50 crore. This opening remains his highest-grossing opening so far in his career. In the same year, he also made a guest appearance in his uncle Chiranjeevi's film, Shankardada Zindabad.

His sixth film, Parugu was released on May 1st, 2008. Produced by successful producer Dil Raju, it was directed by Bhaskar. Sheela played the female lead in the movie, and Prakash Raj played another major role. This film opened to mixed reviews but later went on to run for 100 days successfully. It brought good recognition to Allu Arjun as an actor, too. He entertained his audience with his dancing and acting skills.

He is also a well-known star in Kerala. All of Allu Arjun's movies, except Gangotri, were dubbed into Malayalam. Desamudrudu was renamed "Star" in Kerala. All of Allu Arjun's movies, except Gangotri, were dubbed into Malayalam. This helped him gain some popularity in the state of Kerala.

PAN India Success

In 2021, Allu Arjun reunited with director Sukumar after nearly a decade for Pushpa: The Rise. The film revolves around red sanders smuggling in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh, with Allu Arjun portraying Pushpa Raj, a laborer-turned-smuggler, alongside Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. Released in December 2021, the film received mixed reviews in South India, but Allu Arjun's performance was widely praised. It became a major commercial success, grossing over ₹350 crore and emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021.

Allu Arjun won his fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Telugu and the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance, marking the first time a Telugu film actor received this honor. His portrayal and the iconic dialogue "Thaggede Le" gained cult status, leaving a significant impact on Indian pop culture.

A sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is currently in production and is scheduled for release on December 5, 2024. Early reports indicate a blockbuster response from audiences, with the film crossing ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office.
