Ankit Tiwari

Ankit Tiwari is an Indian playback singer and music director in television and Bollywood, hails from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

His father has a music group of his own and his mother sings devotional songs. From childhood he used to sit with them during practice and trained under Vinod Kumar Dwivedi ji. He used to practice for nearly 12 hours a day. He is a student of jugal devi Saraswati vidya mander, Kanpur.

He has composed music for films such as Do Dooni Chaar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. After that, he became a solo music director. He worked with STAR News on their project Khoob Ladi Mardani dedicated to Rani Lakshmibai sung by Richa Sharma. This in turn lead him to his next project Vishesh Films's, Aashiqui 2 directed by Mohit Suri.

His song in this movie, "Sunn Raha Hai" got him worldwide acclaim and the song named as the love anthem of the year.

On May 8, 2014 he was arrested in Mumbai over charges of raping his Girlfriend on the pretext of marriage. His brother Ankur Tiwari was also arrested on the charges of threatening the Victim.
