Anupam Kher Biography

Anupam Kher is an acclaimed actor in Hindi films in India. He has acted in many successful Bollywood films, and also in several successful Punjabi, British, Hollywood and Chinese films as well.

Career

Kher made his acting debut in the 1982 Hindi movie Aagman. Then in 1984 came Saaransh, where he played an aged, retired person having lost his son, and he has never looked back since then. He hosted TV shows, such as Say Na Something To Anupam Uncle and Sawaal Dus Crore Ka. He has mainly played comic roles but has also played the roles of villains for which he got critical acclaim, such as Karma (1986) where he played terrorist Dr. Dang. Recently he casted in Kashmir Files as a lead which was a blockbuster.

Personal Life

After his divorce from his first wife, Madhumalati, Anupam Kher married Kirron Kher. Their son, Sikander Kher, made his acting debut in a Sanjay Gupta film. Anupam's brother Raju Kher is also an actor who appeared in his directorial debut Om Jai Jagadish and then acted in Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara and some TV shows. Anupam's another brother has worked in the Zee TV drama "Hamari Batiyoon Ka Vivah."
