Govinda is an Indian film actor, dancer, comedian, and former politician known for his work in Hindi films. Govinda has acted in over 120 films since his debut in 1986. Govinda is best known for his comic roles; his powerful contribution to dancing in Bollywood is remarkable. After having tremendous success in comic roles, he tried his luck in a villainous role in the film "Shikari," directed by N. Chandra. His performance in the film was praised by critics. After a rough period from 2002 to 2005, he made the most successful comeback in Bollywood history with a string of hits, beginning with Bhagam Bhag in 2006 and culminating with a critically acclaimed performance in Salaam E Ishq in 2007. Following that, in 2007, he appeared in the romantic comedy Partner, directed by David Dhawan. The movie became the 2nd greatest residential opening week grosser for an Indian movie, became a smash hit, and was ranked in India's top three films of 2007. He has also popped up as a guest on Indian reality shows similar to The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing in the United Kingdom.
