Manchu Vishnu Biography

Vishnu Manchu is the eldest son of Dr. Mohan Babu & Nirmala Devi, who are actors, producers, and CEOs of MBC (Mohan Babu Corporation), living and working in Hyderabad, India. His film, Dhee, was one of the most successful Telugu films in 2007.

Vishnu is married to Ms. Veronica Reddy, the niece of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The actor sponsors the ICL Indian Cricket League team, the Hyderabad Heroes.

Early life

Vishnu was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. His mother is the late Vidya Devi Manchu, and his father is the eminent actor, politician, and educator, Dr. M. Mohan Babu. Vishnu’s first role in front of the camera came at the age of four when he appeared in "Ragile Gundelu" in 1985. The actor says he knew from the start that performing on the silver screen would always be his first love.

Vishnu's older sister, Lakshmi, is an actress in Hollywood, California, and a producer of South Indian films in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. His younger brother, Manoj, is also an actor in both Telugu and Tamil cinema (Kollywood).

After graduating from Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College with his B.Tech in Computer Science and Information Technologies, Vishnu then migrated to Los Angeles, California, where he took several courses in film acting and direction. While there, he studied martial arts.

Personal life


Vishnu Manchu grew up with his two siblings: sister Manchu Lakshmi and brother Manchu Manoj. In the year 2008, he married Viranica Reddy, the niece of the late Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. In 2011, Vishnu Manchu and Viranica Manchu were blessed with twin girls, Ariaana and Viviana.

Film career

Actor

Vishnu broke into the leading man world in the 2003 self-titled film "Vishnu," directed by Malayalam Action Film Director, Shaji Kailas, after studying his craft through teachers and under the critical eye of his father.

A picture per year followed and in the year 2007, his films "Dhee" and "Saleem" were shot in locations throughout Europe, India, and Thailand. His current movie, Vastaadu Naa Raaju, is being shot and is slated for release in January 2011.

Other

Vishnu has produced two films as well: "Yamajaathakudu" in 1999 and "Sri" in 2005. Having an interest in special effects, he also worked as an SPFX supervisor on "Vishnu" and as the SPFX foreman on "Sri."

As the CEO of MBC, Vishnu Manchu oversees several child companies: Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, ThinkSmart, and 24 Frames Factory. Vishnu is also the CEO of SVET (Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust), a university chain with five colleges and nearly 10,000 students.
