Ramdoss E Biography

E. Ramdoss is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor who mainly worked on Tamil films. He is highly regarded for his performances in the movies Kakki Sattai, Visaranai, and Vikram Vedha. His first film as a director, "Aayiram Pookkal Malarattum," was released in 1986 and gained a lot of praise. At the age of 66, he passed away from a cardiac arrest on January 24, 2023, in his home in Chennai's K.K. Nagar. "Varalaru Mukkiyam" was the last movie he appeared in before passing away.

Personal Life

Ethirajalu Pillai, a freedom fighter, and Poongavanam, a housewife, gave birth to Ramdoss in Villupuram. He used to watch movies frequently as a child, and in college, he started to become interested in scripting. In an effort to embark on a future in the Tamil film world, Ramdoss later relocated to Chennai's Mylapore region in late 1979. It was there that he met his neighbour and fellow aspiring filmmaker, Manobala. He will live in K.K. Nagar in Chennai in 2023.

Career

Ramdoss collaborated with filmmaker P. S. Nivas on his debut screenplay, resulting in his being awarded writing credit for the Suman and Sumalatha-starring film Enakkaga Kaathiru. After engaging with Nivas, Ramdoss went on to join Manivannan in directing six films, and then he continued to engage with producer Kovai Thambi at Motherland Pictures. Because of the success of several of Thambi's films, Aayiram Pookkal Malarattum, starring Mohan and Seetha, was Thambi's ability to introduce Ramdoss to his chance to make his directorial debut. He was extensively known in the industry and among the audience because of the box office success of his debut movie.

After that, Ramdoss directed the political satire Vaazhga Jananayagam and the action drama Ravanan, starring Mansoor Ali Khan. Later, he was given the chance to take command of filming the path between Pandiarajan and Kasthuri for a scene in the 24-hour-long multi-starrer Suyamvaram. In addition to his work as a director, Ramdoss frequently worked as a writer with other filmmakers and contributed to movies like Makkal Aatchi, "Sangamam," and Kanda Naal Mudhal.

He played a museum attendant in the 1984 film Nooravathu Naal, but he did not continue acting after that since he was more interested in directing and script writing. However, starting with the 2004 film Vasool Raja MBBS, he began to appear in films as a performer. In movies like Yuddham Sei, Cuckoo, Kaaki Sattai, Visaranai, Metro, Oru Naal Koothu, Dharma Durai, Vikram Vedha, Aramm, Goli Soda 2, Maari 2, Boomerang, Naadodigal 2, Agent Kannayiram, and many others, he has played multiple leading parts since 2004. "Varalaru Mukkiyam" was the last movie he presented to people before passing away.
