Sandeep Reddy Vanga is a Telugu language film director, writer and producer. He made his directorial debut with critically acclaimed film, Arjun Reddy.
Early life
Sandeep was born in Warangal,Telangana. He did his schooling from Platinum Jubilee High School, Warangal, a Agha Khan educational society school until 8th and moved to Hyderabad from 10th standard to 12th standard. He did his physiotherapy from SDM College of Medical Sciences, Dharwad. After joining as an assistant in Vizag and he decided to study filmmaking, and went to pursue it in International Film School, Sydney (now known as AFTT - Academy of Film, Theatre & Television). Sydney, Australia. He has an elder brother, living in the US and produced the film, Arjun Reddy.
Career
He was in the film industry in various roles since 2010. He worked for a Tollywood film, Kedi as an assistant.
Arjun Reddy
He started writing the script for Arjun Reddy in 2015, and thought of casting Allu Arjun i.e another script, that did not work out. Then Sharwanand was offered the role. But due to his date problems he casted Vijay Deverakonda as the lead for his directorial debut, Arjun Reddy. No producers were coming forward to do the film, he then had to convince his father and his brother to produce it. The film released on 25th August 2017 and is a blockbuster hit with rave reviews.
Controversy
The film ran into trouble with censor board for its bold use of smoking and drug use. It also created furor for its kissing scenes in the movie and also for the movie poster.
