Satish Kaushik Biography

Satish Kaushik was an actor, director,producer, comedian and screen wrier who primarly works in Hindi film industry. He is best known for his peformances in the films like Mr India,  Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Saajan Chale Sasural, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Udta Punjab  and Soorma.

Film Career

He stepped into the film industry as a theatre artist. He gained appreciation for his performances in the Hindi drama 'Salesman Ramlal' . It is an adaptation of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller. Later he made his film debut in 1987 with 'Mr.India'. Satish received his first filmfare award his performance in 'Ram Lakhan' in 1990. He got another filmfare award in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.

He also contributed as a writer for the screen and wrote dialogues for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron in 1983. Besides acting, he was a well-known filmmaker in the industry. He made his directorial debut  in 1993 with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja.The film featuerd actress  Sridevi in lead role, but tanked at the box office. Later he  directed  the movie 'Prem' in 1995 but it also flopped at the box-office. His another projects include  Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rahte Hain and Vaada.

Satish launched a film production company along with Anupam Kher called Karol Bagh Productions in 2007. Apart from acting on big-screen, he also appeared in a lead role  the comedy series titled 'The Great Indian Family Drama'. He was last seen in the film 'Chhatriwali' alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Sumeet Vyas in 2023.

Personal Life
 
Born on 13 April 1956 in Mahendragarh ,Haryana. After completing graduation from Kirori Mal College in Delhi, he joined National School Of Drama for film studies.  He married Sashi Kaushik in 1985 and the couple have two  children. Their  first child died at age of two years old  and later they welcomed second child through surrogacy.

Satish was also a partner in the Chandigarh Film City project  under  partnership with Parsvanath Developers. They had bought 30 acre land in Chandigarh at cheap rates. The project was cancelled due to the action taken by media.

Death

Actor-director Satish died following a heart attack in February 9, 2023. He was died at the age of 67.
