Tanya Abrol is an Indian actress known for playing the role of Balbir Kaur, a member of the Indian women's national hockey team, in the sports oriented movie, Chak De India, starring Shahrukh Khan. Originally from Abohar, Tanya was a third year student at the MCM DAV College for Women, in Chandigarh when the role was offered to her. Tanya is the daughter of Mr. Ramakrishan Abrol and Mrs. Sarita Abrol. She was born and brought up in Abohar, Punjab.
