Nooru Janmaku Review
Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, who has earlier done successful movies like America America and Amruthdhaare, had created lots of expectations among the audience when he announced the movie Nooru Janmaku, but now it seems all in vein. Despite having stronger storyline, the movie seems to have failed to reach the expectations of the viewers.
The movie Nooru Janmaku is a love story and the director has blended it with the issue of global recession. Although he has selected a good script, the movie clearly shows his lack of preparation or home work. Nagathihalli, who staunchly believes in simple life style and has depicted the same in all his previous movies, seems to have focused more on creating grandeur. While doing so he has missed out the soul of the film.
The movie has several unwanted/arbitrary sequences, which contribute nothing but unnecessarily drag the film. The growth of Vinyas's firm and its downfall is shown in superficial terms. The Star cruise of Macau and the fantastic Hong Kong outdoors in a song sequence in the second half clearly shows that the director’s quest to achieve commercial success has superseded his sensibilities. But the essence of the film comes through only in the climax — poignant, yet beautiful.
