Ennum Eppozhum Review
Vineeth N Pillai (Mohanlal) is the senior correspondent of Vanitha Rathnam. He is a lazy person, who continues in his job only due to his mother's influence in the company management. Vineeth's laziness irks Kalyani (Reenu Mathews), the new editor-in-cheif of the magazine.
Kalyani plots a plan to fire Vineeth from the company. She assigns him to interview Adv Deepa (Manju Warrier), who is a leading advocate cum social activist. Deepa is a divorcee, who lives with her 7 year old daughter (Baby Advaitha).
At the verge of losing his job, Vineeth tries desperately to get closer to Deepa, for an exclusive interview. This forms the crux of the story.
Vineeth Pillai (Mohan Lal) is working in a famous women’s magazine called Vanitharathnam. He is not interesting in that job. Due to his mother’s compulsion he continues. He is used to come office late and not complete the work in the deadline. The management gives warning to him so many times. But he does the same thing. One day management changes the head of that magazine. Kalyani (Reenu Mathews) is appointed as his new boss. Within few days let she know about Mohan Lal. Advocate Deepa (Manu Warrier) is a famous lawyer in the city. She also involved in the social activities.
Reenu Mathews planned to punish Mohan Lal. So she gives a task that, he should get interview from Manju Warrier. So he tries to get news from Manju. But she is so busy, so he couldn’t get it. Continuously he follows her and close with her. At the end the story turned with a small twist. As said the above by us, director Sathyan Anthikad takes a small one line and filled with lots of interesting incidents. Mohan Lal presents his character very cool. Welcome back Manju Warrier. Her performance is also so good. May be the screenplay could be little bit tighten. Otherwise it’s a good entertainer. It’s worth to watch the movie in theaters.
When we think about director Sathyan Anthikad, the first thing that comes up to our mind is about the simplest way of narrating simple stories about the common people without any gimmicks or extravaganza as such with humour getting more importance than any other factor. All characters mostly middle class that we can see in and around our daily life will have a presence in all of his films with no place for violence or melodrama. So the family audiences still have a place in their heart for his movies although he was not at his best or close to it when we take his last couple of films for a discussion.
Sathyan Anthikad is a director who never bothered about the changing times and its noise. And all the while, he has tried to portray the intricate family bonds, to share those cute love stories and to bring to life the simple innocence of village life.
Vineet. N. Pillai [Mohanlal] is a staff working for a leading publishing house. He is not so punctual in his profession and thus have to go through many criticisms from the management. As a breakthrough he see’s a potential subject of a lady advocate [Manju Warrier] and set’s out to get her interview. What happens to him from then forms Ennum Eppozhum.
