M. S. Bhaskar, born Muthupettai Somu Bhaskar on September 13, 1957, in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, is a celebrated Indian actor, voice artist, and veteran of Tamil theatre. Known for his exceptional range from heartfelt emotional roles to flawless comedy Bhaskar is one of the most respected and versatile performers in Tamil cinema. With decades of contributions across stage, television, film, and dubbing, he has earned a unique place in the hearts of Tamil audiences. Career Bhaskar began his acting journey in theatre before moving to Tamil television in the late 1990s. He became a household name with hit serials like Chinna Papa Periya Papa, Selvi, and Arasi. His film breakthrough came in Engal Anna (2004), and since then he has appeared in memorable roles in films like Mozhi, Dasavathaaram, Sivaji, 8 Thottakkal, Jai Bhim, Soorarai Pottru, and Rocketry. A masterful dubbing artist, Bhaskar has dubbed for over 1,000 characters, including English films and Telugu-to-Tamil adaptations. Personal Life M. S. Bhaskar is married to Sheela Bhaskar, and the couple has two children: actor Aadithya Bhaskar (known for 96 as young Ram) and Ishwarya Bhaskar, a voice artist.
