Karthi has been due for a hit after his hattrick flops. The actor is now returning with Biriyani, which is directed by successful director Venkat Prabhu and the film is produced by Gnanavel Raja. It is a romantic-comedy film, which has generated a lot of positive talks in the industry. The Tamil movie has Yuvan Shankar Raja's music and Sakthi Saravanan's cinematography.

Biriyani is clashing with Jeeva and Trisha Krishnan's Endrendrum Punnagai and Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3. Will Biriyani give a much-needed break for Karthi? Can Venkat Prabhu change the fortunes of the actor? Will other releases hamper the prospects of this flick?

Biriyani, the delicious dish, becomes the focal point of director Venkat Prabhu’s 5th film after a very successful outing in Mankatha. The ‘All Boys’ club is almost there with a new key addition in the form of the energetic Karthi. Biriyani is also a landmark film for Yuvan Shankar Raja as it marks the one hundredth project of the talented music composer.

Karthi is best when he becomes sarcastic and full of irony, this time he is the playboy Sugan along with his loyal, yet all-time complaining friend Parasu aka Premji they set out on a journey that changes their course of normality.

Each of Venkat Prabhu's movies sport a theme and he somehow sticks hard to the storyline and the theme complimenting each other, Biryani is no different where a simple search for a meal makes two friends run out of fear, murder, action and what not.
