Kadhal Kan Kattudhe is a rom-com that talks about the ups and downs of a relationship between a couple. As said earlier, we have seen many films on romance, but only very few make us convinced about the couple falling in love.
The whole film carries on the shoulders of KG and Athulya, as they both travel throughout the movie, and it is their transfer of emotions that makes the film, a feel-good watch. Athulya scores easily as her cute expressions and emotions have fetched her fans already.
Verdict: A watchable, simple love story!
Kudos to debut director Shivaraj for coming out with a simple yet well-crafted romantic story that is narrated in a refreshing manner.
Although the entire cast is new, Shivaraj has extracted realistic performances from all and has woven a neat love story. KG and Athulya look pleasing and add authenticity to the characters they play. Athulya has been portrayed as a strong girl and she gets bonus marks for her expressive eyes. Anirudh is equally good.
Overall, a cool and breezy film that is worth a watch!
The film revolves around an ordinary boy and a girl, Shiva (KG) and Athulya (Athulya). He is happy-go-lucky and romantic, she is driven and practical. He lives in Coimbatore with his friends, she lives in Pollachi with her mother and sister. But they have been friends since college days, and meet up often. Gradually, they fall in love with each other.
This is also a film that acts as an antidote to all the misogynist stuff that we see in our films. Shiva’s friend (played by the director himself) does spout dialogues that depict girls as bloodsuckers, but the director balances these with witty counters by the heroine. In one scene, Athulya remarks, “Ponnungala thittina dhaana ippo ellaam kaiyya thatturanga”.
