Chengala Venkata Rao is an Indian film politician and producer, known for his works in Telugu cinema. He produced one of the biggest blockbusters movie of Balakrishna's Samarasimha Reddy and also producer of NTR's Narasimhdu. While making Narasimhdu movie he attempted suicide by jumping into Hussain Sagar due to financial trouble. On 24th May, 2017; Anakapalli sessions court sentenced to life imprisonment for the former MLA and Vice-chancellor Venkatrao of Visakhapatnam district. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for another 15 years and sentenced to five years imprisonment by a fine of Rs 50,000. The court ruled that a 10-year long hearing of the clash occurred during the setting up of the BMC company. There were five women in the penalty. In 2007, attempts were made to set up a BMC company (Chemical Factory) at Nakkapalli Mandalam. Local residents were protesting against the establishment of the company. The fisherman named Kaushal Konda was killed when the clash took place. The case was registered against Venkatrao and his followers.
