Biography

Lal is a prominent film actor Malayalam Film Industry.Also known for his best-known films like Salt n Pepper, and Thalappavu. Apart from acting in Malayalam film, he also appeared in Tamil and Telugu film industries. He entered the film industry as a mimicry artist and later started directing films with his childhood friend Siddique. He is a well-known director for films like Ramji Rao Speaking, In Harihar Nagar, Godfather, Cobra and many more. Besides acting and directing films, he is also a producer for movies like Thommanum Makkalum, Panthaya Kozhi, Kalyanaraman, and Thenkasipattanam.   Personal Life M.P.Michael also known as Lal, who is the brother of Alex Paul, is a well-known music director. He married Nancy and they have two children, Lal Junior and Monica Paul. Career Life Lal entered the film industry as a mimicry artist. He actively participated in stage performances along with his friend Siddhique before came to the industry. Later he joined hands with Siddique and started film direction together. They were associated with  Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu directed by Fazil in 1984. The team also cast many superstars like Mohanlal and  Mammotty in their films. In 1992, they wrote and directed theVietnam Colony film', starring Mohanlal, Kanaka, and  Innocent in the lead roles. The film was average successful, later it was remade in Tamil with Prabhu in the lead role under the same title. After then,  the film Kabooliwala was released in 1994 and was a huge hit movie in Malayalam Cinema.  Siddique and Lal's duo is one of the best combinations of Malayalam cinema's all-time hits and evergreen comedies like Ramji Rao Speaking, In Harihar Nagar, and Godfather. Later Lal became directed movies independently. The films like 2 Harihar Nagar, In Ghost  House Inn, Cobra and Tournament were directed by Lal in his career life. Other than directing films, he is also an actor in his best-known films like Kaliyattam, Ozhimuri, Thalappavu, Salt N Pepper, etc. Being an actor, he also played vital roles in the Tamil films like Sultan and Karnan. Awards He has received many several awards for his incredible performance in the industry. In 2012, he won the National Film Award for Special Mention Category for Ozhimuri. And he also won Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor for Thalappavu, Ayal, and Zachariayude Garbinikal.
