Prem Kumar

Prem Kumar is an Indian actor who shows up in Tamil cinema. He became well-known for his roles in television shows and for winning the inaugural season of the reality dance contest Jodi Number One. He was chosen as an executive committee member in the Nadigar Sangam elections that took place on October 18, 2015. He was honoured with the V4 MGR Sivaji Academy Award in 2018 for his amazing effectiveness in a supporting role in the critically acclaimed film Vikram Vedha.

Prem began his acting career as the lead in the television series Anni, which was created by K. Balachander and helmed by Samuthirakani. Dr. M. Karunanidhi suggested him for the role in the movie adaptation of Karunanidhi's novel Kannamma after seeing him in the TV serial Annamalai. The movie came out in 2005 to mediocre reviews.

Together with Pooja, his Annamalai co-star, he actively participated in season one of Jodi Number 1. He eventually won season 1, at which point he declared he would switch from TV series to movies. Since then, he has appeared in the films Nepali (2008), Unnaipol Oruvan (2009), and Vallakottai (2010).

He appeared in many films, but 2017 Pushkar Gayathri's Vikram Vedha helped him gain more notoriety. He was praised for his portrayal of Simon in that film, and in 2018 he was handed the V4 MGR Sivaji Academy Award for his stellar effort.
