Roy C J, aka C J Roy, was a prominent Indian business tycoon and the founder of the Confident Group, a leading real estate and infrastructure company established in 2005. Under his leadership, the group grew into a well-known name in the industry, with projects spanning residential apartments, villas, commercial complexes, and mixed-use developments across India. Early Life & Career Born in Kochi, Kerala, Roy C J built his career through determination and entrepreneurial vision. From modest beginnings, he went on to establish Confident Group as a trusted brand in real estate, known for its large-scale developments and ambitious projects. Association With Cinema & Media Apart from being a businessman, Roy C J was also involved in the Malayalam film industry as a producer. He produced notable films, including Mohanlal’s big-budget movie Casanova (2012). Confident Group also gained wide public recognition as the title sponsor of multiple seasons of Bigg Boss Malayalam, the popular reality show hosted by Mohanlal. Death Roy C J was found dead on January 30, 2026, at his office on Langford Road in Bangalore. According to police reports, his death occurred during an Income Tax raid at the premises, and it was reported that he died by suicide using a firearm. An investigation was conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
