Mahaveeryar is a Malayalam fantasy-comedy drama, directed and written by Abrid Shine. The movie stars Nivin Pauly ,Asif Ali and Shani Srivastava in the lead roles. The story is an adaptation of a short-story written by award-winning author M.Mukundan. Actor Nivin Pauly appears as a saint in the film, while Asif Ali is seen in the role of a man who belongs to a forgotten kingdom. It also highlights satirical, court room and time travel elements in its story idea. The film also marks third collaboration between actor Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine. In a nut shell, the film was a complete hilarious enteratiner for audiences and packed with relevant content ideas about modern age social condition and political situation. Apart from Asif Ali the film features the actors Lalu Alex,  Lal, Siddique, Shanvi Srivastava in pivotal roles. Released on July 21, 2022, the film was produced by director Abrid Shine jointly with Nivin Pauly, and PS Shamnas under actor's own production house. After its big release, the film makers announced the OTT release date in 2023. As per the latest reports, the film will start streaming on Sun NXT from February 10.
