Biography

Akshay Kumar is an Indian Actor, Television Host, and Producer best known for his characters in films like Housefull, Khiladi, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and Rowdy Rathore among many others. He is one of the most stunning and energetic actors who had experience in martial arts and an acting career. As a well-known actor in the Bollywood Film Industry, he is famous for doing action, romantic, and comic roles in films. He has worked in more than 100 Bollywood films in his career of more than 25 years. Personal Life Akshay Kumar was born to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruan Bhatia in Punjab.Original name was Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. He completed schooling at Don Bosco School in Delhi, and later moved to Mumbai. After completing higher education at Guru Nanak College, he went to Bangkok to learn martial arts. Worked as a waiter and chef who struggled a lot to survive in the city. After that, he came back to India and set up a martial arts school in Mumbai. Later,he started modeling as a career and got entry into the film industry. From being a martial arts  teacher to becoming a leading superstar in the Bollywood Film industry, the actor is an inspiration for those who wish to achieve their dreams in life. In 2001 he married  Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia's daughter Twinkle Khanna. She is a writer, interior designer, and former Bollywood actress. The couple has two children, Aarav and Nitara Khanna Bhatia. Career Life            Also known as Khiladi actor in the Bollywood Film industry, he made his first debut with this film 'Saughandh" in 1991. Later, he appeared in the film "Deedar" in the lead role, which was directed by Pramod Chakraborty in 1992. The movie becomes successful and he got a series of offers from prominent directors in the Hindi Film Industry. In the same year, he acted in the film Mr.Bond based on the life of James of Bond. Later, Akshay acted in movies like Dil Ki Baazi, and Qaeda Law. All these films were released in 1993. In 1994, the actor played a police officer role in the two films Tu Anadi and Dusri Mohra. The two films became the highest-grossing film of that year. As an action hero, he got the title 'Khiladi Kumar  after the success of the movie Mai Khiladi Tu Anari', released in 1994. He acted in the films Suhag and Elan at the end of 1994. Both movies were successful, and the actor becomes known as one of the best action heroes in the Bollywood Film Industry. Apart from action movies, Akshay played romantic and comedy roles in Hindi films.  Yeh Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya, Dhadkan, and Andaaz are the best romantic movies of Akshay. Later 2000, the actor starred in comic-centric films such as Namastey London, Singh Is King, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Garam Masala, and Phir Hera Pheri. And also acted in biopics and inspirational films over the course of his career. He has been part of several such films like Airlift, Kesari, Pad Man, and Mission Mangal. Awards and Honours Akhshay won Filmfare awards several times and is also the recipient of Padma Shri awarded by Government of India.In 2017,the actor won National Film Award for Best Actor for Rustom. Production Akshay Kumar set up two production houses namely Hari Om Entertainment production company in 2009 and Grazing Goat Pictures production company in 2012. Television Host Akshay was hosted show Fear Factor – Khatron Ke Khiladi.
