released
the
DVD
of
army
officer-turned-director
Major
Ravi's
much-acclaimed
Mohanlal
starrer
Kurukshetra,
one
of
the
exceptional
war
action
dramas
of
recent
times.
The
function
was
attended
by
the
entire
crew
of
Kurukshetra
along
with
leading
filmmakers
like
director
Joshi,
producers
Alwyn
Antony
and
Antony
Perambavu.
Moser
Baer
also
released
the
DVD
of
yet
another
Mohanlal
starrer
Aakashagopuram,
an
offbeat
film
directed
by
K.P.
Kumaran,
at
the
Dubai
Film
Festival
in
December
2008.
The
company,
which
sells
legal
CDs
and
DVDs
at
the
lowest
prices
in
the
world
(Rs.
28
and
Rs.
34
respectively),
is
expected
to
bring
out
more
Malayalam
film
titles
shortly.
Kurukshetra,
a
sequel
to
Keertichakra,
is
based
on
the
director's
hazardous
experiences
of
the
Kargil
war
between
India
and
Pakistan
between
May
and
July
1999
in
Kashmir.
Released
in
October
2008,
Kurukshetra
has
already
turned
to
be
a
hit
commercial
hit,
fetching
an
opening
record
collection
of
90
lakhs
on
the
very
first
day.

Damodaran
under
the
Damor
Films
banner,
Kurukshetra
has
Mohanlal
as
Colonel
Mahadevan,
who
is
determined
to
reclaim
the
land
grabbed
by
Pakistani
soldiers
in
the
Kargil
valley.
Siddique,

Menon,
Cochin
Haneefa
and
Sooraj
Venjaranmoodu
are
also
in
the
star
cast.
