Low-cost films fail to lure audiences

With no major movie making it to the national chain of multiplexes, the single screens and standalone multiplexes witnessed a string of low-cost films Ek Se Bure Do, Pal Pal Dil Ke Saath and Meri Padosan making it this Friday. However, the opening numbers were terrible and even the recovery of theatre rentals seems like a remote possibility.

Amongst previous titles, 8x10 Tasveer has sunk completely. Meanwhile, the forthcoming period is expected to be tough for the national chain of multiplexes. With no biggie in sight for the next few weeks, the plexes are expected to incur heavy losses in days to come.
