Madan Patel's controversial movie Sathyananda has been cleared by the Regional Censor Board. The film has bagged 'A' certificate after undergoing several cuts.

The movie landed in a controversy when the title and posters resembled Swami Nithyananda for which the latter filed an Interlocutory Application seeking to restrain producer Madan Patel from releasing the film Sathyananda. His counsel KV Dhananjaya had argued that the producer had promoted the film in his name and also had launched verbal attacks on him.

Later, the court directed the Revising Committee to take the final call on the issue. The 10-member team headed by veteran actress Arundhati Nag watched the movie recently and passed the movie with the 'A' certificate. However, they have asked the makers of Sathyananda to chop the controversial scenes.

Meanwhile, Madan Patel has said that he is happy with the outcome and clarified that the movie is not based on Swami Nithyananda rather it is about those who fool the people in the name of god.
