Ayogya Review: A Pretty Average Movie That Doesn't Connect With The Audiences!

Without much hype and hoopla, the Sathish Ninasam starrer, Ayogya has hit screens today(August 17, 2018). Ayogya is released in 300 screens all over, with no real expectations riding on the flick. The rural backdrop based movie is being steered by S Mahesh Kumar, a former associate of Yogaraj Bhat and Duniya Suri. Let’s dissect the offerings of the movie.

Sidde Gowda (Sathish Ninasam) is an unemployed and vibrant youth in a certain village who seldom lock horns with Bachche Gowda (P Ravishankar) questioning the latter about his rendition of work and service for the development of the village. Despite being in power for many years, Bachche Gowda doesn’t bother about betterment which irks Sidde Gowda. In a parallel track, Sidde Gowda, who would be in love with Nandini (Rachitha Ram) will face a havoc as his relationship gets into doldrums.

How would Sidde Gowda tackle Bachche Gowda and how does he win over his love life with Nandini forms the rest of the story.

Sathish Ninasam as the protagonist is quite appealing and showcases his on-stage experience and talent. He has toned his body well and has worked out certain comical expressions better. Rachitha Ram, who often will be seen as a modern belly, is seen as a chaste village girl. The makeover is not to alluring and her performance can be regarded as average.

P Ravishankar is at his usual best with his terrific screen presence and dialogue rendition through his baritone base voice. Sadhu Kokila, Kuri Prathap and Tabla Nani come and chip in with their share of performances which neither adds great value to the movie nor hamper the pace and weight of the screenplay. They are stars on papers who appear to enthrall the audience during their opening scenes and nothing beyond that point.

S Mahesh Kumar, who carries quite some experience as an associate director, seems to have chosen this plot as a safe bet. Though a genuine effort can be noticed in the overall movie making process, it somehow doesn’t quite connect with the audience as an entertainment package due to the lack of core entertainment values and for the fact that, it runs with an age old fight between the protagonist and the antagonist.

Preetham Teggimane and Suresh Arumugam have handled cinematography and editing respectively and have rendered justice to their roles. Arjun Janya as the music director stands as a good takeaway in this not so appealing product with a couple of songs providing foot-tapping moments.

TR Chandrashekar, the producer of the movie, hasn’t quite dropped bundles for the project as the movie is set in a rural backdrop and the production values are bare minimal.

Ayogya is an average commercial movie and an action-packed pot boiler which doesn’t quite entice its viewer. Not a preferred plan for the weekend unless you are killed with boredom and crave to get away from technology and city life.
