I
have
received
an
award
known
as
Vanitharatnam
Award
from
the
Govt
of
Kerala.
I
have
received
many
messages
from
all
over
the
world.
I
thank
the
Govt
of
Kerala
and
its
dept
of
social
justice
and
all
my
well
wishers
for
this
award.
Especially
i
am
priveleged
to
receive
this
award
along
with
some
one
like
Prof.Hridayakumari
who
is
like
my
mother
and
other
luminaries.
This is not the first time that Chithra is getting an award. The award is one among the many laurels that has come her way but, still each award is a sign of appreciation as far as any celebrity is concerned.

After the death of her only daughter Nandana, Chithra had been keeping away from the industry and musical shows for about a year after which she realised that she cannot survive without music. Later, she was seen in many musical reality shows as one of the jury member.
