Balachandra
Menon,
the
National
award
winning
actor-filmmaker,
has
thrashed
super-talented
Kamal
Hassan
with
severe
allegations.
In
a
recent
interview
given
to
a
Malayalam
magazine,
Menon
has
stated
that
Kamal
is
self-obsessed
and
carried
away
with
fame
and
power.
The
rift
between
Kamal
Hassan
and
Balachandra
Menon
is
not
a
secret
for
the
film
industry.
The
issue
started
when
Kamal
walked
out
of
the
Tamil
remake
of
Menon's
Ammayane
Sathyam.
The
remake
was
titled
Kanden
Seethayayi
and
almost
80
percent
of
the
filming
was
completed.
But
the
film
was
shelved
suddenly
and
it
was
reported
that
the
creative
differences
between
the
producers
and
Kamal
resulted
in
the
same.
According
to
the
recent
revelations
by
Balachandra
Menon,
Kamal
Haasan
was
solely
responsible
for
dropping
the
project.
During
the
filming,
Kamal
suddenly
asked
to
change
the
plot
as
he
wanted
to
essay
a
male-living-as-a-female
in
the
movie.
In
the
original,
it
is
about
a
girl
who
lives
as
a
boy.
Kamal
Hassan
was
initially
keen
to
do
the
movie,
but
later
changed
his
mind
due
to
the
interference
of
his
friends.
After
a
bitter
argument,
Kamal
walked
out
of
the
project,
and
it
remained
unreleased.
Later,
Menon
had
approached
Kamal
for
a
compromise
talk,
but
the
star
was
not
in
a
mood
to
listen.
The
same
issue
resulted
in
the
birth
of
Kamal
Hassan's
popular
movie
Avvai
Shanmughi,
in
which
he
played
a
man
who
lives
as
an
elderly
woman.

and
immediately
thought
of
remaking
it.
Shivaji's
long
time
assistant
Raveendran
agreed
to
