Tharun Gopi as Kattupaya

Kattupaya, the maiden venture of director Tharun Gopi as hero, is expected to go to the floors after the end of the unlucky Aadi. The recent successes of Sundar C, Cheran and newly emerged Sasikumar (of Subramanyapuram) have propelled many young filmmakers like Tharun Gopi to follow them.

Another reason for his self launch as hero is his bitter experience with Simbu and his father T Rajendar during the release of Kaalai. This Simbu starrer film has bombed at the Box Office and the result forced TR to beat him in front of the viewers in Kamala Theater during the premiere of Kaalai.

According to the director, the script is ready and the shooting is expected to commence very soon. Rumors are doing the rounds that K Balachander's Kavithalaya is impressed with the script and has reportedly considered to join as producer for the film.

Kavithalaya, the co producer of Superstar Rajini's Kuselan is currently producing films including Thiruvannamalai and Krishnaleelai with Arjun and Jeevan in the lead respectively.
