Even as celebrities from various Indian film industries continue to pour in their support and prayers towards the rain affected victims of Chennai and Tamil Nadu, few celebs have decided to shed their star status' by getting themselves to the ground level, in order to help the suffering lot.

While it is a known fact that actors Siddharth and RJ Balaji were involved in the relief work right from the beginning, as reported by us earlier, more prominent celebrities like 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja, Vishal and Karthi have surprised everyone by helping their fellow citizens in person.

Ilaiyaraaja

The 72-year-old Maestro has reportedly hired a boat to reach out to a group of visually challenged school kids, who were confined to a building sans food and other basic amenities. The famed musician distributed food to all the kids stuck in the building, according to a report.

Vishal, Karthi and Karunas

Actors like Vishal, Karthi and Karunas have cancelled their respective shooting in order to take part in the benevolent act of helping others.

It is said that they have taken up the responsibility of delivering food, water and medicines to the affected victims in and around Chennai and Cuddalore, which is said to be the worst hit area in the whole of Tamil Nadu.

Dhanush, Parthiepan and Mayilsamy

Other celebrities like Dhanush, Parthiepan and Mayilsamy were also seen handing over food and water to the people of Chennai, according to a report.

While earlier, Dhanush had confirmed that his father-in-law Rajinikanth's marriage hall named Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam will be open for those who have lost their houses, actor Mammootty has also come forward to provide shelter to those who are in need of one.
